Hi, my name's Heather and I'm the owner of Beyond the Bit - Equine ~ a small, up-and-coming online tack store located in Southern Ontario, Canada.  

 

Don't take the name - Beyond the Bit - as an indication that I'm against the use of bits, although you will find bitless bridles here. It was the name I originally chose for my horse training business because of my belief that training should go beyond just hopping on and riding. Step-by-step groundwork and connection with the horse were the foundations of my training method. Now the name signifies that one should take care in choosing and fitting their tack, and not just slapping on any saddle, bridle and bit. ​

 

I wanted to start up this little online store to provide Canadians with tack that may be harder to find in Canada or in many of the big tack shops. I mainly intend to sell quality synthetic and leather bitless and bitted bridles.  

 

I became a Freeform treeless saddle rep in 2024. My job is to help clients choose the right saddle, pad and girth, and to address any concerns they have with their Freeform saddle or tack.
